New Bedford - Genowefa (Zukowski) Pastie, 98, died Saturday, November 2, 2013, at the Sacred Heart Home.  She was the wife of the late Peter Pastie.
     Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Alexander and Bronislawa (Zielewski) Zukowski, she lived here all her life.  She was employed as a winder at Aerovox until her retirement.
     Mrs. Pastie was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and of the OLPH Holy Rosary.  She enjoyed playing bingo and the lottery, and watching baseball and hockey.  She especially loved her grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren.
     Survivors include 2 sons, Peter Pastie and wife, Ethel of New Bedford and James Pastie of Dartmouth; 1 daughter, Irene T. Sherman of New Bedford;  4 grandchildren, 9 greatgrandchildren, and 4 great-greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
     She was the sister of the late Stanley, Victor and Stella Zukowski and Leokadia Arms, and mother-in-law of the late Donna Pastie and Lee Sherman.
     Visiting hours are 4 - 7 P.M., Tuesday in the Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  Her funeral will be at 9 A.M., Wednesday, with a service at 10 A.M. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
