Alan A. McAlister, 71, died Friday, May 3, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Charles and Aileen M. (Gracia) McAlister, Alan lived in the city his entire life.
Alan worked as a painter and in his free time, he enjoyed playing poker, watching tv, and football.
He is survived by his companion, Wendy Lee Lygren; 3 brothers, Kenneth, Wayne, and Keith McAlister; his granddaughter, Cassandra Balistrino; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Kelly Balistrino.
