Alfred Henser Obituary

Fairhaven - Alfred C. Henser, 90, died Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Our Lady's Haven.  Born and raised in Dartmouth, the son of the late Matthew and Agnes (Wojtowicz) Henser, he was a lifelong resident of the town.
     Alfred was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.  He retired after 30 years of service for his country.  He also spent 15 years in the Merchant Marines.
     Alfred's favorite pastimes were working outdoors and tending his garden.
     Survivors include his nephew, John W. Baron and his wife, Diane (DeeDee) of Dartmouth; 2 nieces, Diane Baron and Carole Rapoza, both of Dartmouth; and several great nieces and great nephews, all of Dartmouth and Arizona.
     He was the brother of the late Florence Baron.
     His family wishes to thank the staff of Our Lady's Haven for the love and care they gave to Mr. Henser.
     Visiting hours are 2 - 5 P.M., Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  His funeral will be at 8 A.M., Monday, with a service at 8:30 A.M. in the funeral home, followed by burial with military honors, in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
