Alfred "Al" or "Freddy" Foisy Obituary
Fall River – Alfred, also known as “Al” or “Freddy” Foisy, 79, of New Bedford, died Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Southpointe Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Alfred J. Foisy and Antoinette (Fernandes) (Foisy) Merrick, he lived here all his life. He was employed as a teacher for the New Bedford and Dartmouth public school systems until his retirement.
He greatly enjoyed classical music, opera and travelling throughout the world. An avid gardener, Al also loved being in his home. He was a wonderful son, grandson and brother.
Al had a valiant fight with Parkinson’s for 22 years and he did it with dignity until the very end.
He is survived by his sister, Louise E. Merrick of St. Petersburg, FL and many beloved friends.
