Alice Bonneau, 90, passed away unexpectedly on October 9, 2025 in Brooksville, FL. Born in New Bedford, MA, the daughter of the late Romeo and Albina (Belisle) Thibault, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Bonneau in 1997 after 42 years of marriage, brothers Albert and Fr. Armand Thibault and sisters Florence Millette, Doris Thibault and Blanche Madec.
She was employed for 40 years with Continental Elastics in New Bedford, until the plant closed in 1992. She returned to work for Dial Fabrics in Taunton until 2010 when she retired to Brooksville, FL after marrying John Savoie. John passed away in 2012 after only two short years of marriage.
She enjoyed traveling, the warm Florida weather and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Richard, and his wife, Sharon, grandson Alan and his wife Aly, and grandson Matthew, sister Rita Bedard and many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by step-children Susan Gormley and her husband Ken, Tom Savoie and his wife Renee, and several step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visiting hours for Alice are Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Her funeral will be Friday, October 17, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 106 Illinois St., New Bedford. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery #1, Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford.
