New Bedford - Antoinette (Boutin) Racine, 98, died Sunday, March 20, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert Racine.
Born in Philemon, Canada, daughter of the late Louis and Zelia (Beaudoin) Boutin, she formerly resided in New Bedford before moving to Acushnet a couple of years ago to live with her daughter, Danielle. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Racine enjoyed knitting hats for cancer survivors. She loved watching the "Survivor" series and Sunday masses on T.V.
Survivors include her daughter, Danielle Lygren of Acushnet; 1 granddaughter, Wendy Lygren of New Bedford; 1 great-granddaughter, Lyndsy Sylvia of Acushnet; a sister-in-law, Viola Racine of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews of the U.S. and Canada.
She was the mother of the late Diane Racine and sister of the late Clara Boulay and Lucien, Clement, Emile and Joseph Boutin.
Her family wishes to thank the visiting nurses for their wonderful care of Mrs. Racine.
Visting hours are 4 - 7 P.M., Monday, March 28, 2016 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Her funeral is 9 A.M., Tuesday from the funeral home, followed by a Mass at 10 A.M., in St. Anthony of Padua Church, New Bedford. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
