Antonio P. Vieira

Antonio P. Vieira, 68, died on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Cindy (Suprenant) Vieira.

Born in St. Michael, Portugal, son of the late Jose M. and Maria Jose Pacheco Vieira, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

In his free time, Antonio liked watching cowboy movies and sports, especially the Benfica soccer team, Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics. He also enjoyed pigeons. He especially loved spending time with his family.

Antonio is survived by his three sons, Antonio Vieira, Jr., Nicholas Vieira, and Brian Vieira; five brothers, Pedro Vieira, Jose Vieira, Nelson Vieira, Luis Vieira, and Joao Vieira; three sisters, Maria Vieira, Tina Vieira, and Fatima Vieira; and several grandchildren.

Visiting hours are Monday, March 16, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Road, East Freetown.
