Augusto P. Debastos

Augusto P. Debastos, 86, died on Friday, November 21, 2025, at home after a long illness. He was the husband of Maria C. (Tavares) Debastos.

Born in Lisbon, Portugal, son of the late Joao Rodrigues and Cecilia Pires (de Carvalho) Debastos, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

In his free time, Augusto enjoyed fishing and gardening, and loved watching his favorite soccer team, FC Porto. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son, Paul Debastos and his wife, Stacey; his daughter, Deborah Debastos and her husband, Mark; one brother; four sisters; and two grandchildren.

His funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church and burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery were private.
