Brunilda Gerena-Rosario

Brunilda Gerena-Rosario, 73, died Friday, March 13, 2026 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of William Delgado.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Benito Gerena and Teodosia Rosario, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

In her free time, Brunilda enjoyed cooking and entertaining people. She especially loved spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her two sons, William J. Delgado and Hector Martinez; her daughter, Delia Martinez; her grandchildren, Anais Diaz, Nayshka Diaz, Naihomy Vazquez Martinez, Hector Nieves Martinez, Randall Ramos Martinez, Mildelis Marquez Martinez, Nathanael Martinez, William Delgado, Siaralis Delgado, and Willianis Delgado; and her great-grandchildren, Seth Correa, Nyll Vazquez, Jonnias Serpa, Yoneyshka Diaz, Sajid Serrano, Sael Serrano, Jiareyz Rivera, Naysharie Cruz, Jomar Cruz, Jadiel Rodriguez, Amiyahsky Nieves Martinez, Isabella Martinez, and Kaleb Martinez; and her great-granddaughter, Paulina Cruz.

Visiting hours are Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Her funeral is Friday, March 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
