C. Alice LeBlanc Obituary

New Bedford - C. Alice LeBlanc, 89, died Sunday, September 14, 2014, surrounded by her family at St. Luke's Hospital.
     Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Roseanna (Dansereau) LeBlanc.  She was a graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing and Our Lady of Angels Academy in Montreal.  She received a Master's Degree from Boston University and her nurse practitioner's certificate from Peter Brent Brigham Hospital (now defunct).
     At St. Luke's Hospital, Alice spent her happiest years working in the maternity dept. and clinic where she is still remembered by the many that she cared for.  She was the angel of the family, always ready and willing to help anyone who needed her.  She will be missed by all who knew her.
     Alice was very active and faithful to her church.  She was a lector and eucharistic minister.  In 2012 she was awarded the Marian Medal of Honor by the Diocese in recognition of her work.
     Alice is survived by Aimee Marx and Christian Marx of New Bedford, Emile LeBlanc and wife, Jeanette of New Bedford, Roland LeBlanc and wife, Diane, of Fairhaven, Paul LeBlanc and wife, Mary of Norman, OK, Gerald LeBlanc and wife, Kathy of Raleigh, NC; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
     Alice was the sister of the late Sr. Roseanna LeBlanc, CSC, Sr. Lillian LeBlanc, CSC, Sr. Marie Joseph LeBlanc, SSJ, Sr. Bertha LeBlanc, SSJ, Emile, George, and Albert LeBlanc, and aunt of the late Robert LeBlanc.
     Visiting hours will be from 9 to 10:30 A.M., Monday, at the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 A.M. in St. Joseph-St. Therese Church.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
