Carmen R. Carrasquillo

Carmen R. Carrasquillo, 58, died Sunday, October 1, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Gabriel Febres.

Born in Carolina, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Cruz Carrasquillo and Sonia Negron, and lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

In her free time, Carmen liked to play Bingo. She especially enjoyed providing for her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her 2 sons, Christian and Frank Rivera; 1 daughter, Carmen Rivera; 3 brothers; 3 sisters; 8 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

She was the mother of the late Luis Febres.

Visiting hours are Friday, October 6, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, New Bedford.
