Carmen A. Oyola-Diaz, 90, died Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at home after a brief illness with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Basilio and Heriberta (Diaz) Oyola.
Carmen was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico where she lived for 70 years before moving to New Bedford. She was a member of the Iglesia Mia Es La Gloria Dice El Senor Church.
In her free time, Carmen enjoyed cooking and reading the bible. She was the perfect grandmother and especially loved spending time with her family.
Carmen is survived by her son, Noel Oyola-Diaz; her 2 daughters, Aleyda and Norma I. Tejada; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours are Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Her funeral will be Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a service at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home by her son-in-law, Pastor Alfredo Marcial. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, 149 Dartmouth St. New Bedford.
