Carmen L. Santiago Monge

Carmen L. Santiago Monge, 67, died Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. 

Born in Carolina, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Felix and Maria Magdalena (Monge Viera) Santiago Valentin, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

In her free time, Carmen enjoyed shopping and was very fond of dogs and flowers. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Carmen is survived by her 2 sons, Jose A. Garcia Santiago and Emmanuel Garcia Santiago; and her sister, Blanca Garcia.

She was the mother of the late Jose L. Garcia Santiago.

Visiting hours are Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Iglesia Mia Es La Gloria Dice El Senor Church, 244 Dartmouth St. New Bedford. Her funeral will be Friday, October 24, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a service at 11:00 a.m. from the church. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, 149 Dartmouth St. New Bedford.
