Carol Gacek Schwartz

Carol Gacek Schwartz, 71, of Acushnet, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024 after a brief illness. 

She was truly a caring, nurturing spirit who left everyone she interacted with happier, calmer, and more fulfilled. She liked people, animals, plants, and nature. She loved to be in the sunshine, looking at clouds or the moon, the beach, and gardening. She was a fantastic cook and loved hosting holidays. 

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Dr. Frederic Schwartz, her sons Nathan Schwartz and Dr. Gregory Schwartz and her siblings Richard Gacek and Christine (Gacek) Post. She was the daughter of the late Emily (Kondziolka) Gacek and Mitchell Gacek.

She was a devoted office manager for 40 years in podiatry, first with her husband and then with her son. She made sure all patients were well cared for. 

Private services are with Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  

Donations can be made to the Humane Society or the ASPCA. Those that were close to her will forever cherish and miss her.
