Clarisse Lafferty Obituary
New Bedford - Clarisse “Cookie” (Turgeon) Lafferty, 85, died Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late James Lafferty.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Henry and Clarisse (Francour) Turgeon, she was a life-long resident of the city. She worked as a grocer at Turgeon’s Market, and later at Stop and Shop until her retirement.
Clarisse enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, and singing along with her old movies.
Survivors include her daughter, Lori Lafferty; her brother, Henry Turgeon and his wife, Gloria; her grandson, Stephen Ryan; and several nieces and nephews.
Clarisse will be buried at a later date with her husband, James.
Arrangements are with Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
