Daniel D. Couto

New Bedford – Daniel D. Couto, 67 of New Bedford, died Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at St. Luke’s Hospital.  He was the husband of Odete (DeSousa) Couto.
     Born in St. Michael, Azores, the son of the late Alfredo and Maria Ines (Sousa) Couto, he lived in New Bedford for many years.  He worked in construction for the Big Dig Project in Boston until his retirement.
     Mr. Couto enjoyed watching wrestling, family activities, and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was also a Patriots fan.
     He is survived by his wife, Odete; 3 sons, John Couto, Ricardo Couto, and David Couto; 1 daughter, Patricia Metil; 7 brothers, 4 sisters, 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
     He was the father of the late Susana Medeiros.
     His funeral services and burial in Pine Grove Cemetery are private.
