Darleen G. Newman

New Bedford – Darleen G. Newman, 59, died Thursday, May 9, 2019, at home with her family at her side.  She was the long-time companion of William Reed Arthur.
     Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Barbara A. (St. Jacques) Martin, she lived in this city all her life.  She was a homemaker.
     Darleen enjoyed vacationing.  She loved her dogs, King and Rex, and especially taking care of her family.  She spent many wonderful times with her beloved sister, Cheryl, over coffee and reminiscing about happy times with family.
     She is survived by her companion, William Reed Arthur; 1 son, Curtis Arthur of New Bedford, her best friend and daughter, Misty D. Arthur of New Bedford; 1 brother, Gerald Vallie of Wareham; and several nieces and nephews.
     She was the sister of the late Cheryl Allain.
     Visitation is 4 to 5 P.M, Friday, May 17, 2019, with a memorial service at 5 P.M., at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
