Fall River - David Campos, 52, of New Bedford, died Sunday, September 10, 2017, at St. Anne's Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of Maria Acosta and the late Estevan Campos, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life. He was employed as a fisherman for the fishing industry until his illness.
David was a collector of many things, especially model cars, and loved boxing. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother, Maria; 1 son, David E. Campos; 2 daughters, Destiny Campos and Dechelle Campos; 5 brothers, Eli Cuadrado, Felix Cuadrado, Raymond Velasquez, Paquito Velasquez and Daniel Ferrer, all of New Bedford; 3 sisters, Lucy Garcia of New Bedford, Evelyn Cuadrado and Miriam Cuadrado, both of Fairhaven; and 2 grandchildren, Isaiah Campos and Amiyah Campos.
He was the brother of the late Elena Campos and Deborah Cuadrado.
Visiting hours are 9 - 11 A.M., Friday, September 15, 2017, with a service at 11 A.M., at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
