Deolinda (Pacheco) daMota

Acushnet - Deolinda (Pacheco) daMota, 94, died Sunday, May 21, 2017, at home.  She was the wife of the late Manuel daMota.
     Born in Lagoa, St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, daughter of the late Jose and Virginia (Lima) Pacheco, she lived in Canada before moving to Acushnet 30 years ago.  She was a homemaker.
     Mrs. daMota enjoyed cooking, crocheting, playing cards and sitting by the pool in Florida.  She especially loved playing with her great-grandchildren.
     Survivors include her son, Arnold Mota and his wife, Margaret of Acushnet, 2 granddaughters, Patricia Ashley and her husband, Frank of E. Freetown and Suzanne Riley and her husband, Jeff of Dartmouth; 6 great-grandchildren, Katherine, Elizabeth, Sarah and Gabrielle Ashley; Erin and Ryan Riley; and several nieces and nephews.
     She was the sister of 4 siblings, who are deceased.
     Visiting hours are 4 - 7 P.M., Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  Her funeral is at 9 A.M., Thursday from the funeral home followed by a Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, Fairhaven.  Burial is in Pine Grove Cemetery.
