Donna Wright Obituary

Donna Jean Wright, age 60, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, April 3, 2026.

Born in Taunton, MA, daughter of the late LouAnn E. Enos and Richard Quintana, she resided in South Dartmouth, MA for the last 17 years.

Donna loved deeply and without judgment. Her empathy and genuine concern for others were truly admirable. Known for her quick wit and playful sarcasm, she had a special way of making people laugh and lightening the mood in any room. She never sugarcoated anything and always spoke her mind: a quality that made her both honest and unforgettable.

Due to health conditions that limited her breathing and mobility, Donna’s greatest joy came from living vicariously through her children and grandchildren. She adored her family and her beloved fur babies, Jake and Moe, always spoiling them every chance she got.

Donna found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—coffee with French vanilla Coffee-mate, watching The Osbournes with some Chester’s Cheddar Puffcorn and an XL Hershey bar, researching jewelry and gemstones, and enjoying the thrill of a good online auction or the arrival of an Amazon package. She had a profound love for the Lord, faithfully completing her morning Bible devotional for many years.

An avid sports fan, she cheered on the Red Sox and the Patriots, but Donna’s favorite athletes were her grandchildren. She loved lighthouses, butterflies, and tie-dye prints, and had a deep appreciation for music of all genres. Often heard playing in the background, 1960s and 1970s rock ’n’ roll was the soundtrack to her life.

At heart, she was a true hippie—free-spirited and full of soul. And like the music she loved, her memory will never fade, playing on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved children, Amanda Greene, Timothy Greene, Nicholas Gizzi, Tess Cardoza, and Dylan Cardoza; her cherished grandchildren, Hayleigh, Vienna, Serenity, Rainah, Timothy, Boston, Symphoni, and Blake; her sister, Theresa Cusson and her husband, John; her brothers, Frederick Garcia, and Timothy Rowe and his wife, Tamra; her dearest friends, Chris, Kim, and Keith; and her dedicated care team—Annie, Ben, “Monday Matt,” and Robin—whom she was deeply grateful for, as they cared for her with kindness and compassion.

Donna shared nearly 25 years of devoted love with her partner, Glenn G. Gomes, until his passing in June 2024.

A joint memorial service honoring Donna and Glenn will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Machnowski Funeral Home, with inurnment to follow at Rural Cemetery in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
