Doris M. (Gagne) Dextraze

New Bedford – Doris M. (Gagne) Dextraze, 71, died Monday, April 5, 2021 at home.  She was the wife of William J. Dextraze, Jr.
     Born in Montreal, Canada, the daughter of the late Amy H. and Valentina (Berube) Gagne, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.  She was a homemaker.
     Doris enjoyed bingo, shopping and the company of her dog, Lola.  She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
     She is survived by her husband, William; 4 daughters, Lisa Roderick and husband, Arty and their children, Arthur, Jr., Jacob, Justin, Connor and Manny; Suzanne Dextraze Hart and her son, Louie; Theresa Botelho and husband, Billy and their children, Danielle, Dominique, Kenny and Billy, Jr.; and Elizabeth Gregory and husband, Jimmy and their children, Brittney and Lindzie; 14 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Rollande Cardin and Jacqueline Souza.
     Visitation is 4 – 7 P.M., Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  Her funeral is at 10 A.M., Friday from the funeral home followed by a Mass at 11 A.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, New Bedford.  Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery is private.
     In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
