Fairhaven - Edna Jean Hendricks, 92, of Fairhaven, MA, formerly of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015.
She was born on August 28, 1923 in Davenport, Iowa to Charles E. Alford and Edna Kristine (Engstrom) Alford. Jean graduated from Peoria High School in 1941. She married Oliver Lewis Ulrich, Jr. on June 3, 1945 in Peoria. He died on January 29, 1967. She later married Donald D. Hendricks in November of 1968 in Peoria. He died November 25, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Theodore Sinclair, stepson, Jeffrey G. Hendricks, brother, George Alford and sister, Marie Harms Perrault.
Jean worked as a secretary at Caterpillar, LeTourneau-Westinghouse, and WABCO until she relocated to Sacramento, California. There she worked as a secretary for the California Cattlemen's Association until her retirement.
She loved music, travel, dancing and gardening.
She is survived by her sons, James A. (Ann) Ulrich of E. Peoria, Illinois, and Jerald A. (Kathy) Ulrich of New Bedford, MA; stepdaughter, Melody E. Hendricks of E. Dubuque, Illinois; brother, Charles E. Alford of Waco, Texas, grandchildren, James L. Ulrich of Brimfield, Illinois, Michael A. Ulrich of E. Peoria, Illinois, Chris and Patrick Hendricks of Texas; 5 great-grandchildren, Caden, Gus, Ava, Louis and Henry Ulrich; and 12 nieces and nephews.
