New Bedford - Edward F. Jorosik, 90, died Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Oaks. He was the husband of the late Shireen M. (Parker) Jorosik.
Born in Newark, NJ, a son of the late Frank and Mary (Przywara) Jorosik, he lived in New Bedford for all of his life. He was a merchant marine ship navigator for Sea-Land until his retirement.
Mr. Jorosik was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching sports such as the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins. He was also known as a very charitable man who contributed to many notable causes.
Survivors include his twin sisters, Helen Jackson of North Dighton and Jane Schultz of St. Paul, MN; a stepdaughter, Jill Marie Ussach and husband, Harvey of New Bedford; 4 nieces and 10 nephews, and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was the brother of the late Walter P. Jorosik and Casimir Jorosik.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 P.M., Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Funeral is at 9 A.M., Thursday, from the funeral home, followed by a Mass at 10 A.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, New Bedford. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
