Wareham – Edward A. Smola, 98, died Wednesday, April 26, 2023. He was the husband of the late Viviane (Desroches) Smola.
Born in Acushnet, son of the late Frank and Apolonia (Stawasz) Smola, Edward lived in Brockton for over 50 years before moving to Wareham.
He enjoyed boating and fishing, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Edward is survived by his 3 daughters, Brenda Owen and her husband, Gary, Diana Pizza and her husband, Samuel, and Jo-Ann Curtin; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, Edward Smola; his 2 sisters, Ann Almida and Stella Thomas; and his brother, John Smola.
Private cremation services are with Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
