Edward J. Wesoly

New Bedford - Edward J. Wesoly, 85, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at Hathaway Manor.  He was the husband of Nancy G. (Ferreira) Wesoly; they were married 56 years.
     Born in New Bedford, son of the late John P. and Leokadia (Pietrzykowska) Wesoly, he lived here most of his life.  He was employed as an estimate assigner for the telephone company until his retirement.  A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Polish-American Veterans Association.  He was also a member and on its board of directors of the Southern Mass Credit Union.
     Mr. Wesoly enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing and reading.  His greatest pleasure was telling jokes and making people laugh.
     Survivors include his wife, Nancy; 1 daughter, Joan Estrella and her companion, Kevin of Dartmouth; 1 son, David Wesoly and his companion, Lisa of New Bedford; 1 sister, Ilona Kelly of Barnstable; 1 grandson, Joseph Morris; 5 great grandchildren; 2 nieces and 1 nephew.  
     He was the brother of the late John Wesoly.
