Elba I. Sosa

Elba I. Sosa, 81, died Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford after a brief illness.

Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Angel and Juanna (Perez Millet) Sosa, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

Elba was especially fond of dogs and in her free time, she enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and caring for others. Most of all, Elba loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her three sons, Angel Santiago, Edgar Moralis Sosa, and Jorge Moralis Sosa; her daughter, Adelaida Santiago Sosa; two brothers; three sisters, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Elba was predeceased by her son, Ismeal Moralis Sosa.

Visiting hours are Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, New Bedford.
