Emile LeBlanc Obituary

New Bedford – Emile J. LeBlanc, 85, of New Bedford passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 after a brief illness.  He was the husband of Jeanette (Hall) LeBlanc and the late Theresa (Lavoie) LeBlanc.
     Born in New Bedford, son of the late Emile and Yvonne (LaPointe) LeBlanc, he lived his entire life in New Bedford.  Emile was a proud veteran serving in the Army during the Korean War.
     He was a graduate of New Bedford High School.  Emile worked as a cobbler for many years at Poyant Shoes in New Bedford, and the shoe industry in Brockton, and retired from St. Luke’s Hospital, working in the engineering and maintenance department.
     Emile considered himself a lucky man to have found true love twice in his lifetime.  He was married to Theresa until her death in 1975, and was married to Jeanette for the past 42 years.
     His family includes his daughter, Diane Damaso and husband, Richard of Acushnet; his sons, Dennis and wife, Marianne of Somerset, and David and wife, Karen of Fairhaven; his stepsons, Walter Venuto and wife, LeeAnn of Mesa, Arizona, and Joseph Venuto and wife, Jinhee of San Jose, California; 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
     He is also survived by 3 brothers, Roland, Paul, Gerald, and the late Robert LeBlanc and their families.
     Visiting hours are 9:30 A.M. – 12 noon, Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by a funeral Mass at 12:30 P.M. in St. Mary’s Church, New Bedford.
