Emily J. (Costa) Harrison

New Bedford - Emily J. (Costa) Harrison, 89, died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the S.E. Mass Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was the wife of the late Harry B. Harrison.
     Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Frank and Sarah (Carrier) Costa, she was a lifelong city resident. She was a stitcher for the textile industry until her retirement.
     Mrs. Harrison loved music, singing and dancing.
     Survivors include 4 stepsons, William, Harry, Jr., Robert and Ronald Harrison, all of New Bedford; 1 niece, Carol Costa of New Bedford; 1 nephew, Raymond Mattos and 1 great-nephew, Craig Mattos, both of Florida; and 2 grandchildren, Patricia Harrison and Kevin Harrison, both of New Bedford.
     She was the stepmother of the late Normand Harrison, and sister of the late Mary Mattos, Antone Costa and Stephen Costa.
     A private funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church and burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
