Florence J. (Gryss) Goyette

New Bedford - Florence J. Goyette, 88, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Hathaway Manor Extended Care.  She was the wife of the late Arthur Goyette, Sr.
     Born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Joseph and Waleria (Niekowal) Gryss, she was a resident of Fairhaven.  She was employed as a data entry clerk for the textile industry until her retirement.
     Mrs. Goyette was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, where she had been a member of the OLPH Ladies Society and the choir, as well as coordinator of OLPH Bingo, and a helper in the church kitchen.  She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
     Survivors include a son, Arthur Goyette, Jr. and his wife, Theresa of Dartmouth; 1 brother, Frederick Gryss of New Bedford; 5 grandchildren, Marc Pittsley and Julie Mauro, Ryan, Geena and Lauren Goyette; 3 great-grandchildren, Madison, Brayden and Brynn; close family members, including Michael, David, Leslie, Cindi, Michael and Amy; and other nieces and nephews.
     She was the mother of the late Patricia Pittsley and sister of the late Mary Souza.
     Visiting hours are 4 - 7 P.M., Friday, May 12, 2017 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  Her funeral will be at 8 A.M., Saturday from the funeral home, with a Mass at 9 A.M. in OLPH Church.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
