Florence Millette Obituary
New Bedford - Florence A. (Thibault) Millette, 95, died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Care One at New Bedford. She was the widow of Eugene Millette.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Romeo and Albina (Belisle) Thibault, she was a lifelong city resident. She was a graduate of Bridgewater State University and was employed as teacher for the New Bedford School System. She was also a tax preparer for H&R Block.
Florence enjoyed playing cards, working outdoors and being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include 2 sisters, Rita A. Bedard of New Bedford and Alice G. Bonneau of Florida and New Bedford; a daughter-in-law, Claire Millette of New Bedford; a son-in-law, Dr. Harold Segal of Guelph ON, Canada; 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey Segal, Jennifer Segal, Tracie Millette-Shuman, Julie Soares and Jayne Poch; 10 greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Dr. Ruth Segal and the late Robert D. Millette; sister of the late Blanche Madec, Albert V. Thibault, Rev. Armand Thibault, SM and Doris Thibault, PhD; and family friend of the late Jacqueline Mathieu.
Visiting hours are 4 - 7 P.M., Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Her funeral is at 9:30 A.M. Thursday from the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. in St. Joseph-St. Therese Church. Burial is in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
