New Bedford - Francis R. Kwiatkowski, 89, died Saturday, February 13, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Theresa P. (Carroll) Kwiatkowski; they were married 65 years.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Vincent and Mary (Kosewski) Kwiatkowski, he lived here all his life. He was employed in purchasing for the Acushnet Co., Titleist, Golf Division until his retirement.
Mr. Kwiatkowski was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. He enjoyed golf, tennis and watching the Patriots.
A U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, he was a recipient of the Victory Medal, American Theater Medal and Asiatic Pacific Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa; 2 daughters, Andrea Kwiatkowski and her husband, Mark Wallace and Christine Kwiatkowski and her husband, Robert Barnett, all of NY; 2 granddaughters, Catherine Wallace and Emily Barnett, and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Helen Bettencourt, Wanda Hemingway and Frieda Cormier.
Visiting hours are 4 - 7 P.M., Tuesday, February 16 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. His funeral will be at 8:00 A.M., Wednesday from the funeral home, with a Mass at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford. Private burial to follow in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
