Frederick Nazarchyk, 94, of Fairhaven, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021, after a period of declining health, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of the late Alice (Viveiros) Nazarchyk; they were married for 69 years.
Born in Taunton, MA, Fred was the son of the late Karp and Anna (Knapinski) Nazarchyk. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
He attended vocational regional school. He worked many years as a linotype operator for New Bedford Standard Times until his retirement.
Fred was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He traveled with his wife, Alice extensively. He had a passion for taking videos and many pictures. He also enjoyed playing his accordion and the company of his dog, Tasha.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Ann-Marie Rourke and son-in-law, Gerald Rourke of Coventry, RI ; a sister, Ann-Natasha Mathieu of Maine; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Raymond Nazarchyk and Dorothea Rose.
His funeral Mass is at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, New Bedford. Burial will be private. Please wear masks and practice social distancing.
