Genesis Nicole Vargas

New Bedford – Genesis Nicole Vargas, 25, died Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital.  She was the daughter of Dennis Vargas and Michelle Lopez.

     Genesis was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and lived in New Bedford for several years.  She was employed as a restaurant cashier.

     She enjoyed watching crime stories, such as “Criminal Minds” and was a fan of comedies.  She loved being with her family.

     Survivors include her mother and father; a daughter, Kamila Vargas; her maternal grandmother, Aleyda Tejada; her paternal grandmother, Rosa Velasquez; and her paternal grandfather, Arning Vargas; 2 sisters, Denisha Marie Vargas and Gabriela Marie Vargas; 2 brothers, Reinaldo Reyes and Dennis Javier Vargas; 2 nieces, Ainara Sofia Cortes and Keliam Edriel Cortes; and 1 nephew, Eidan Javier Vargas.

     Visitation is 9 – 11 A.M., Monday, August 16, 2021 with a service at 11 A.M., at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
