New Bedford - George J. Brunelle, 53, of New Bedford, died Monday, January 18, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the soulmate of Susan Swanbeck-Brunelle for 17 years.
Born in New Bedford, son of Richard and the late Elsie (Correia) Brunelle, he lived here all his life. He was employed as a fisherman in the scallop industry.
George enjoyed fishing and Playstation. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his father; his soulmate, Susan Swanbeck-Brunelle; his former wife, Cynthia (Lynch) Bradley; 3 sons, Randy Brunelle of Plymouth, Tyler Washburn of New Bedford and Joseph Brunelle of New Bedford; 2 daughters, Jasmine Brunelle of New Bedford and Crystal Shea of Plymouth; 4 step-children, Beau Majndle ( his best friend and step-son), Destiny Majndle, Jacob Renauld and PFC Joshua Swanbeck; 3 brothers, Richard Brunelle of RI, Douglas Brunelle of Florida and Scott Brunelle of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Michelle Kelly of Florida and Annemarie Luiz of Florida; and 9 grandchildren, Brianna Lonergan, Mackenzie Brunelle, Joshua Brunelle, Ryan Shea, Dylan Shea, Jamison Brunelle, Kyle Shea, Dominic Brunelle and Kaylee Brunelle.
He was the father of the late Michael Lovell.
