Obituary
New Bedford – Gerard J. Desroches, 95, died Friday, April 1, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the son of the late Arthur and Anna (Daigneault) Desroches.
Born and raised in New Bedford, he was a lifelong resident of the city. He was employed as a maintenance man for the textile industry until his retirement.
Gerard was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include 1 sister, Lucille Barwick; 2 brothers, Donald Desroches and Roger O. Desroches; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Leo Desroches, Willie Desroches, Howard Desroches, Alice Coupe, Beatrice Hayes, Doris Mills, and Jeanne Guillotte.
His visitation is Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., with a service at 10:30 a.m. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
