Gerard Messier Obituary
Marion – Gerard T. Messier, 87, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Sippican Healthcare Center.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late Oscar and Ida (Mercier) Messier, he lived in Fairhaven for most of his life. He was a foundry worker at Revere Copper and Brass for many years until his retirement.
Gerard enjoyed baseball and football, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Gerard is survived by his daughter, Diane Oliveira of Fairhaven; and 3 grandchildren, Christopher Messier, Nicholas Messier, and Harleigh Oliveira.
He was the father of the late Michael Messier.
Private services are with Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
