Gil M. Pimentel

New Bedford – Gil M. Pimentel, 87, died Tuesday, January 2, 2024 after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Maria Fatima (Dos Santos) Pimentel.

Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, son of the late Manuel and Maria Estrella Pimentel, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life. He was self-employed as a vinyl installer until his retirement.

Gil enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and his dog, Molly. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Gil is survived by his son, Jose Pimentel; his brother, Luis Pimentel and his wife, Donna; his sister, Fatima Mosher and her husband, Brian; his daughter-in-law, Susan Pimentel; 2 grandchildren, Andrew Pimentel, Matthew Pimentel and his wife, Amanda; and 2 great-grandchildren, Aurora and Julian Pimentel.

He was the father of the late Gil S. Pimentel; and the brother of the late Artur Pimentel, Manuel Pimentel, and Lourdes Texeira.

Visting hours will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, with a service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
