Helen S. (Podwapinski) Kalisz

Newport, RI - Helen S. (Podwapinski) Kalisz, 101, died Saturday, November 28, 2015.  She was the wife of the late Walter P. Kalisz, Sr.
     Born and educated in New Bedford, MA, Mrs. Kalisz was the daughter of the late Paul and Sophie (Suwart) Podwapinski.  She lived in this area before moving to Newport, RI several years ago.  She was a homemaker.
     Mrs. Kalisz was a member of the Middletown Senior Center.  She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, and going out to dinner.
     Survivors include a son, Attorney Walter P. Kalisz, Jr. and his wife, Elsie of Newport, RI; a daughter, Cynthia J. Knittle and her husband, Donald of Tennessee; 5 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren.
     She was the sister of the late Nellie Stefanik.
     Her funeral Mass was held in St. Mary's Church, New Bedford followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Tuesday, December 1, 2015.
