Ines Lopez

New Bedford - Ines Lopez, 84, died Sunday, January 10, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Francisco Montanez.
     Born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Gregorio and Maria (Oquendo) Lopez, she lived in New Bedford for several years.  She was employed as a manager for a baby clothes company until her retirement.
     Ines enjoyed knitting, reading, playing bingo and dominoes.  She was very active in the Catholic Church.
     Survivors include 1 daughter, Evelyn Montanez; 3 sons, Freddy Montanez, Gilbert Montanez, and Edwin Montanez; 5 grandchildren, Jessenia I. Simmons, Francisco Montanez, Edwin Montanez, Jr., Aina Montanez, and Griserda Montanez; 5 greatgrandchildren, Aramis Rivera Simmons, Kasai Tanco Simmons, Okilani Eva Rivera Simmons, Giram Montanez and Francisco Montanez, Jr.; 2 sisters, Maria I. Lopez and Iris V. Lopez; and 2 brothers, Alex Lopez and Jose Lopez.
     She was the sister of the late Ramon Lopez  
     Her Memorial Mass will be Monday, January 18, 2016 at 7 P.M. in Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. James Church, New Bedford.
