Isaura Serode Obituary
New Bedford – Isaura (Calado) Serode, 91, died Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Sacred Heart Home.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Manuel and Albina (Afonso) Calado, she lived here all her life. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Serode’s favorite pastimes were cooking, bingo and reading. She also enjoyed the senior citizen activities at Brooklawn Park, as well as attending bazaars and penny sales.
She is survived by 1 son, Gary Serode of New Bedford; 4 daughters, Ellen Vaughan of New Bedford, Dolores Henry of Fairhaven, Judith Serode of Franklin, MA, and Gail Brennan of Fairhaven; 4 grandchildren, Jeremiah Canedy, Allison Brennan, Lauren Vaughan and Daniel Vaughan; 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Carlos Calado, Irene Lavado, and Clementina Conchinha.
Visitation is 9 – 11 A.M. Monday, September 28, 2020, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Please wear masks and observe social distancing.
