James D. Leandre

James D. Leandre, 27, died suddenly, Thursday, December 22, 2022 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late James Leandre and Ruth Vieira-Leandre, he lived in Dartmouth for most of his life. James worked as a music instructor for the after school program Dream Out Loud.

James enjoyed bike riding, playing the guitar and harmonica, and watching football. He loved his two cats, Emmitt and Sassy, and his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his brother, Joshua Vieira; 2 sisters, Rebecca Vieira and Catherine Vieira; his 2 best friends, Cody Hebert and Andrea Oliveira; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

James was predeceased by his father, James Leandre, and his brother, Michael Vieira.

His visitation will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Machnowski Funeral Home, with a service at 6:30 P.M.
