James J. Leandre

New Bedford - James J. Leandre, 68, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital.  He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (DeCarmo) Leandre.
     Born in Acushnet, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.  He was employed as a taxi driver in New Bedford for 48 years.
     Survivors include his long-time girlfriend, Kathi; 4 daughters, Rosemary, Deborah, Paula and Michelle; 8 sons, Jimmy, Ken, Steven, Brian, John, Eric, Kevin and Nathan; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
     He was the father of the late Donna Ann Leandre and brother of the late Joseph Leandre.
     Visiting hours are 3 - 5 P.M., Saturday, September 22, 2018, with a service at 4:30 P.M. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.  For condolences, please visit www.machnowskifuneral.com.
