Janice Mae Boehler, 83, of East Freetown passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 at Sippican Health Center in Marion after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Leonard N. Boehler.
Born in Acushnet, daughter of the late Walter E. and Mary H. (Koczera) Szeliga, Janice lived in East Freetown for most of her life. She graduated from Holy Family High School in 1959.
In her free time, Janice enjoyed knitting, ceramics, dancing, traveling, going to the beach, casinos, and owning and supporting the Boehler family NASCAR modified team. She especially loved to spend time with her family.
Janice is survived by her son, Michael Boehler and his wife, Sarah; her daughter, Paula Caron-Lecuyer and her husband, Michael; her sister, Christine Fournier; 4 grandchildren, Brittany, Grace, Luke, and Kate; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Peter Caron.
Her funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd., East Freetown. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford.
