Janice M. Hebert

Janice M. Hebert, 72, died Saturday, January 14, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. She was the longtime companion of Antone Correia.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Jean and Irene (Riley) Benoit, Janice lived in the city all of her life. After working as an assembler at C.P. Bourg Inc. for 30 years, she worked as a home health aide until her retirement.

Janice enjoyed Sunday drives, reading, and soap operas. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and will always be remembered as a very loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt.

Janice is survived by her son, Jaime A. Ventura; her daughter, Julie Dume; her brother, Jean Benoit; 2 sisters, Louise Motta and Linda Benoit; 3 grandchildren, Jacob Ventura, Cory Costa, and Chad Costa; and 4 great-grandchildren, Cory Costa Jr., Alaia Costa, Cevannah Costa, and Corbin Costa

She was predeceased by her 2 sisters, Irene Hawes and Diane Alexander.

Her visiting hours will be held Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, with a service at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford.
