Jean Gonet Obituary
New Bedford - Jean M. Gonet, 85, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Wiecek) Gonet, she was a lifelong city resident.
A graduate of New Bedford High School and St. Anne's Hospital School of Nursing, she was a member of St. Anne's Alumni Association and the Fall River Diocesan Council of Catholic Nurses.
Miss Gonet was a registered nurse at St. Anne's Hospital of Fall River until her retirement. Positions she held there were staff nurse, night supervisor, head nurse-adolescent unit, pediatric coordinator and associate director of nursing service. She also developed the respiratory therapy dept. at the hospital.
Reading, sewing, knitting and gardening were her favorite pastimes.
Survivors include a sister, Judy Marcotte of New Bedford; 1 nephew, 2 nieces, 2 great nephews and 4 great nieces.
She was the sister of the late Frank Gonet, Jr.
Her funeral services were private.
