Joaquin Caban Obituary

New Bedford – Joaquin Caban, 84, died Saturday, December 21, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospital.  He was the husband of Crisanta Rodriguez Caban.
     Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Jose Caban and Anastasia Galarza Caban, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.  He was employed by Oiva Hannula & Son, Inc. of Carver for 37 years until his retirement.
     Mr. Caban enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
     He is survived by his wife, Crisanta; 2 daughters, Elizabeth Caban and Ermelinda Figueroa and her husband, Moises; 2 sons;  2 stepsons; 2 sisters, Aurora Caban and Rosa Caban;  3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
     He was the brother of the late Leonor Gonzalez and William Caban.
     Visitation and services are private.  Arrangements are with Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
