John M. Szymanski

John M. Szymanski, 79, beloved husband and loyal friend died November 19, 2019.  John leaves his wife, Eileen McCook Szymanski, brothers, Stanley and Thomas (wife Nancy), their families and many wonderful cousins.  
     Son of Matthew and Sophie (Groblicka), John grew up in North Dartmouth, attained a degree in chemical engineering from Worcester Polytechnical Institute and a Masters in Business Administration from Boston University.  
     John worked at USM and IBM before becoming owner and president of Paradise
Travel Service (1969 -1999).  He also worked at Action 6 (a travel consortium) as Manager of Business Development.
     During his career, John served as president and a director with the Allston Board of Trade, vice president and president of the N.E. Chapter of American Society of Travel Agents, National Director of Asta, and member of the board of directors of the Society of Polish-American Travel Agents.  He has been an active member of Friends of Poland and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish.
     A Mass of Thanksgiving will be held for John on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 10 A.M. at OLPH Church, 235 N. Front St, New Bedford.  Family and friends are welcome to attend a service at any church to remember John and their own loved ones.  In lieu of any donation, friends are asked to remember him by a small act of kindness, such as reading to a child, visiting a widow (er), giving a ride to a friend.  
     Thank you each and everyone for being part of John’s life.
