Jonathan Fontaine

New Bedford – Jonathan Fontaine, 28, died unexpectedly, Saturday, June 12, 2021.  He was the son of Jean-Paul Fontaine and the late Michele M. (Cyr) Fontaine.

     Born in New Bedford, Jonathan was a lifelong resident of the city, and was employed as a food packer at Trucchi’s Market.

     He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

     Jonathan greatly enjoyed computer games, various sports, and all animals.  He especially loved his family.

     He is survived by his father, Jean-Paul; 2 sisters, Rebekah Christofi and Elizabeth Carter; 2 brothers, Jacob Fontaine and Joel Fontaine; an aunt, Suzanne Wieghmink; a great-aunt, Janice Perry; his grandmother, Joan Cyr; his girlfriend, Kelsie Duarte; 3 nieces, Emerie Carter, Aria Christofi, and Genevieve Christofi; 1 nephew, Liam Carter; and many cousins.

     His Funeral Mass will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, July 8, 2021 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 235 North Front St., New Bedford, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
