Bristol, RI - Kenneth M. Andrews, 93, of Bristol, RI, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Rhode Island Veterans' Home. He was the husband of Carmela (Turcotte) Andrews and the late Elizabeth (Rose) Andrews.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Manuel S. and Amelia M. (Lambert) Andrews, he lived in Massachusetts most of his life before residing in Rhode Island for the last 10 years. He was employed as a plant engineer at New Bedford High School before his retirement.
Mr. Andrews was a U.S. Marine veteran of WWII.
He was a member of the New Bedford Rifle and Revolver Club and a former member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society. His favorite pastimes were computers and dancing.
Survivors include his wife Carmela; 2 sons, Dr. Richard W. Andrews of Rehoboth and William J. Andrews of New Bedford; 1 daughter, Ramona M. Beaudoin of New Bedford; 10 grandchildren, Sean, Priscilla, Pat, Becky, Kevin, Jacob, Scott, Kenneth, Brianne and Rosemary; 6 great-grandchildren, Tess, Emma, Lila, Max, Eliot and Logan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Kenneth M. Andrews, Jr., and brother of the late Clayton Lambert, Dorothy Sheets and Geraldine Nightlinger.
Visiting hours are 4 to 7 P.M., Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Machnowski Funeral Home, 472 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. His funeral Mass will be at 12:30 P.M., Friday in St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth, followed by burial with military honors in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
