Leo P. Ewaszko, Sr.

New Bedford – Leo P. Ewaszko, Sr., 80, died Wednesday, August 14, 2019, after a long illness, at St. Luke’s Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Helen V. (Ruscik) Ewaszko.
     Born in New Bedford, son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Stella (Schick) Ewaszko, he was a lifelong city resident.  He was employed by Konica Co. until his retirement.
     Leo loved music and played trumpet for the J.B. Quintet.  He was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary’s Church of New Bedford.  He especially enjoyed spending time with family and grandchildren.
     He is survived by his loving wife, Helen; 2 sons, Michael J. Ewaszko and wife, Sandra, Leo P. Ewaszko, Jr. and wife, Sherry, and 1 daughter, Nancy A. Reilly and husband, Patrick; 1 brother, Joseph Ewaszko, Jr. and wife, Dorothy; 4 grandchildren, Ryan, Nathan, Jake and Michaela Ewaszko; and many nieces and nephews.
     His funeral Mass will be at 11 A.M., Saturday, August 24, 2019 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.  Burial will be at a later date.
